For 40’000 years bows were made of wood. For 40’000 Years every bow was a precious individual and living piece of art. Then, maybe 60 years ago, smart bowyers found out, that putting a little glass on their bows would make their life so much easier and profitable. Since then bows can be industrially produced in series. But these are not longer indiviaduals, rather cold numbers. Wood however is alive and can talk – every bow has a strory to tell and each has its own personality, given to it by its individual character and mechanical properties of the particular piece of wood, and of course the skills and intentions of the bowyer.
