I often hear the prejudice against wooden bows that they shoot slow and inaccurate. <\/span><\/p>

This however in many cases is only due to the wooden arrows being used. Wooden arrows often are too heavy, inconsistant and wrongly spined.<\/span><\/p>

A MODERN ARROW, made from carbon or aluminium, WILL ALWAYS SUBSTANTIALLY OUTPERFORM EVEN THE BEST WOODEN ARROW.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Why:<\/span><\/p>

1. Modern materials can be produced with very little deviataion in weight and spine from arrow to arrow. A set of wooden arrows however in the best case consists of more or less similar<\/em> arrows.<\/span><\/p>

2. Modern materials can be produced light and stiff. Wooden arrows are limited in stiffness, especially if you are looking for lighter ones. Wooden arrows lighter than 300-350 gn’s are very difficult to obtain; so if you are shooting a lighter drawweight you most likely will be forced to shoot too heavy arrows. <\/span><\/p>

Conclusion:<\/span><\/p>

If you go for wooden arrows, it’s only of conviction or because IFFA prescribes (or if you need an excuse for bad grouping).<\/span><\/p>

If your goal is maximum accurracy, don’t hesitate, go for modern materials, even if you shoot a wooden bow. If you go for wooden arrows, look for a set of properly weightend and spined arrows. <\/span><\/p>

Whatever arrows you use, choose them well and properly adjust them to your bow. Always choose the stiffest possible arrow that still properly clears your bow. Don’t save money on your arrows.

My bows are all built very efficient and close to centershot and therefore can handle very stiff but finally also a broad range of\u00a0 arrows.<\/span><\/p>

I personally do shoot wooden arrows.<\/span><\/p>
