A Hunting Bow for Alaska

Making a hunting bow always feels a little more serious than making just a target bow. Hunting animals was the original purpose of the bow. This one is even more special – after passing all the necessary tests – it may will be taken to Alaska to hunt bear. During construction, I imagined more than once the moment when this bear stands in front of you…and yes, I prefer to just make the bow.

This bow is made from milk orange wood, measures 60“ from nock to nock, and has a draw weight of 67 pounds at 28” draw length.

Echo II is a tribute to my namesake Simon (Siess) – he introduced ECHO I in 2020 – a bow that made a lasting impression on me. I tried to make a similar bow here.
