Light bow from prime Yew

Beschreibung

Yes, you don’t necessarily have to build a heavy English Longbow from yew. A good yew will make any design fly. Here is a delicate American semi longbow (ASL). This bow is 65 inches long and has a draw weight of about 30 pounds at 27 inches draw length. The mass is a ridiculous 330 grams. The hornnocks shown look Victorian, but were still made in this style in the USA until the 1930s. Glued-on overlays, as we know them today, were only made later, when better adhesives were available; the hornnocks are conically set onto the wood, which makes glueing much less critical.
